Weather permitting, the Cologne Fire and Rescue Department will be hosting a thin ice rescue training on Saturday, March 9th. The trail around Benton Lake as well as areas of Highway 284 may have increased traffic due to fire and rescue vehicles and personnel. The public is welcome to observe, but we ask that you keep a safe distance.

As a follow-up to the previous MNDoT meeting regarding improvements at Highways 36 and 41, there will be another open house tomorrow Wednesday March 6th. Below is a message from MNDoT:
“You‘re invited to attend the second open house that MnDOT is hosting regarding the 2019 intersection improvements on Hwy 212 in Cologne. We have made some changes to the plan and would like to share that information with you. In 2019 MnDOT will construct a Reduced Conflict Intersection (RCI) at County Road 41, however the closure of Hwy 36 at Hwy 212 has been removed from this project. Hwy 36 will remain open and a second RCI will be constructed, instead.
Please join us anytime for the informal open house Wednesday, March 6 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Cologne City Hall, 1211 Village Parkway, Cologne.
Project team members will be available to give you information and answer any questions you may have.
If you have questions about this Open House, please contact Kirsten Klein at or

Due to the dangerously cold weather there will be no Open Gym Wednesday, January 30th.

We apologize for any inconvenience.
